Celebrate July 4th with Carowinds’ Independence Day Celebration
Carowinds, a 112-acre combination amusement and water park located on the border of the Carolinas near Charlotte, will honor the 233rd birthday of the United States with its inaugural Independence Day Celebration, an event jam-packed with great food, music, and games, to be followed by its annual Night of Fire fireworks show.

WHAT: Guests can join in on the fun on July 4 for the Independence Day Celebration, an event jam-packed with great food, music, and games only at Carowinds! The day will begin with the special “Carowinds Remembers Our Heroes” opening ceremony which will include a salute to each branch of the armed forces. In addition, the National Anthem will be performed by Miss Cabarrus County, and a presentation of the Colors will be presented by Rock Hill American Legion Post 34 Honor Guard. You won’t want to miss the Pig-Pickin’ July 4 Old Fashioned BBQ, an all-you-can-eat buffet, or the John Love Band who will perform country music tunes on the Carowinds’ Plaza Stage. Guests can help cheer on the contestants participating in the Panama Jack® LIVE 2009 Miss Carowinds Swimsuit Contest, emceed by Breezekat from KISS 95.1 FM and held on the Boomerang Bay™ stage. In addition, guests can partake in a Hula contest, dance contest, and sing karaoke as DJ Road Jam cranks out the hits. Then, after the sun has come to rest, complete the celebration with Carowinds’ Night of Fire - one of the largest fireworks displays in the Southeast!
