Record-Breaking Coaster at Carowinds Earns Top Honors Again

Charlotte, N.C. (September 9, 2024)—Carowinds, the region’s premier amusement park, has once again claimed the title of “Best Steel Coaster” in Amusement Today’s annual Golden Ticket Awards (GTA). This marks the eighth consecutive year that Fury 325, Carowinds' renowned coaster, has earned this prestigious honor, announced on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Fury 325, recognized as the tallest, fastest, and longest giga coaster in North America, continues to be a fan favorite, collecting a total of nine Golden Tickets. Since its debut in 2015, when it was named "Best New Ride" by Amusement Today, Fury 325 has captivated thrill-seekers with its towering height of 325 feet (99m), cementing its status as the tallest giga coaster in the United States.

“Fury 325 offers an experience unmatched by other steel coasters, combining height, speed and intensity while delivering a seamless and smooth flow that keeps riders engaged from start to finish,” Manny Gonzalez, vice president and general manager of Carowinds, said. “Every element, from the first drop to the final turn, is meticulously designed to maximize exhilaration, making it an unforgettable experience for riders long after they've left the park.”

The 26th annual Golden Ticket Awards, held in West Mifflin, Pa., celebrates excellence in the amusement park industry. Amusement Today, an Arlington, Texas-based publication focusing on amusement and water park trends, conducts and tabulates the results of a global survey. During the Golden Ticket Awards dinner and ceremony, it was announced that Carowinds will host the 2025 Golden Ticket Awards on Sept. 5 and 6.
